Using FTP to Upload Pages
On both Windows and Linux servers we support FTP. Front Page has been discontinued by Microsoft, and we no longer support or install Front Page server extensions. If you are using a content manager such as WordPress, we don’t normally grant FTP access, since all uploads can be accomplished through the content manager.
FTP Client Programs
Many web editors such as Dreamweaver or Contribute include FTP support. We also recommend Cute FTP or Filezilla, both are freeware. When connecting with FTP, you’ll need to specify the hostname, your account and password, and your local folder name.
Most FTP clients will have fields similar to those shown here. Select “Passive Mode” or “PASV” if you encounter problems uploading or listing the folder directory on the server.
